Journey to the core of the eye

I learnt about this pair of eyes since many many years ago. Informally, when i was just a little toddler..when mom said, "show me your eyes.." *and finger pointing to the eye* or vice versa..

Then, move on labelling the body parts, including the eyes. Next, the basic functions of the eyes.

When i was secondary school, i still remember we learnt about vision and optics in form 2. I hate the lesson though, i mean i hate optics. With all those kanta cekung and kanta cembung, it confusing me. I remember this very well because my science teacher, Pn. Halimaton was very systematic and well-organized lady. She made everybody to stand up after greet her. Those who answered correctly allowed to sit. Who wanted tp stand for so long?i was one of the earliest who was allowed to sit down in her class.=)..and her notes are perfect!!i really proud of my science book at that time.

I learnt it in further detail when i was in form 5, i guess. Nothing much, but more to anatomy and physiology at school level. Those terms...gelemair (aqeous humor), gelemaca (vitreous humor),rods and cones etc..funny names,no?

Hey, let's finger count how many years already this eye lesson going on?

Futher details in pre-clinical yrs..anatomy was a real headache, physiology was addition of headache..pathology made it even worse..haha!what else?!

In clinical years, i learnt how to use the ophthalmoscope to view the fundus. And thank God, i wasn't a dumb at this. I found it quite easy and i could appreciate those funny things on the retina, better than some of my friends. Ok,berlagak sekejap..lol..Learning about diseases of the eyes made me realized something. Majority of us have 2 eyeballs, which are so small compared to other organs in our body, YET it potrays thousand pictures and diagnoses. Masya-Allah..thank you Allah for giving me opportunity to appreciate all these, which are not given to other people.

Now,things get more complicated. Being an eye MO in eye dept is not as easy/ lepak as people think. I need to read a lotttt until i don't know which one to read first. And i have to get used to the slit lamp, volk lens, B scan, gonioscopu lens and all sorts of equipments for assessment. and now, i'm getting stressed! Up to the extent i feel like crying, but something inside prevent the tears to flow down.

I have no choice but to go through. Insya-Allah, all the hard work will paid by Him one day. Just wait for that one sweet day..
